Get Involved as a Business Owner

If you are a business owner, here are some actions you can take to make sure you are utilizing the "Local First" brand to its fullest.

1. Register your Business! When you register your business, you'll automatically be included in the database on the website, and your business will also be included in the print directory (published annually).
   
2. Display your Local First window cling. Find a prominent spot such as your front door or window and display it proudly.
3. Add a Local First weblink. Add the Local First logo to your website with a link to our website.
4. Use the Local First logo. Download from our website and add it to your receipts, advertisements, newsletters, and more. Visit the LF logo page.
   
5. Participate in our two major promotional events each year. Watch for information in June-July for "Independents’ Week" in November-December for "Buy Local First Week."
6. Keep your listing up to date. Update your Local First listing online at www.localfirst.org.
7. Make use of Local First materials. Local First directories and other materials.
8. Thank the locals for their support. Thank your customers for "buying locally!"
9. Support other local businesses. Remember to buy local for your own business when it comes to services such as printing, catering, accounting, and banking.
10. Embrace community. Transform your customer service into community service and give back in ways that are meaningful for you and your business.
