The Junior League of Salt Lake City, Inc. is a charitable organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action, education and leadership of trained volunteers. The League began in 1931, since that time, an ever-changing program of volunteer activity, financial support and service has been tailored to the growing Salt Lake community. Today, the League celebrates more than 70 years of community service, including involvement in the arts, social welfare, child welfare, criminal justice system and education. In fact, in all areas that affect quality of life issues in the community, the Junior League has turned its attention to the critical issues facing the environment, women and substance abuse, mentally ill adults and health care issues.
