The Foursite Film Institute is located on Ogden Utah’s historic 25th Street and is a meeting place for independent filmmakers and those interested in film. Workshops and events are conducted here year round.
The future of Foursite Film Institute as a springboard for both independent filmmakers and students of all ages as well as a component in Ogden’s growth as a player in the Utah scene rests in the hands of our members.
‘Foursite’ is derived from a play on the word foresight, which means the following:
• Care or provision for the future;
provident care; prudence
• Knowledge or insight gained by looking forward
• A view of the future
The concept of ‘foresight’ informs our vision for the future of the film industry in Utah as well as for continually enlarging our service to the community through the Foursite Film Institute.
In addition, ‘foursite’ refers to the original vision of showing in four sites around Ogden, and includes a vision of expanding from there to many campuses, screening venues, cities and even countries.
Foursite is committed to being on the forefront of a major renaissance in the film industry in Utah. Ogden is a relatively untapped resource with virtually limitless potential in this fast-growing industry.
Film is an art form that encompasses all other art forms and skills that can be developed by human hands. It can move people and stir emotions like no other medium, conveying messages, ideas, philosophy and emotion more than any other outlet. While film is a strong outlet for gratuitous content, it is also a major force for good.
